Have you always wanted to paint a self-portrait and wonder how to do it?
Or, you know how to draw, but haven't figured at how to begin the painting process?
This 2-day workshop will introduce you to the medium of acrylic painting on portrait. Some experience is recommended but not required. After this 8-hour workshop, you will gain an understanding of composition, value and colors while learning how to execute a portrait from beginning to end. To take advantage of the entire portrait curriculum, we recommend attending both workshops in the same weekend.
DAY 1: DRAWING THE PORTRAIT. After selecting a good reference photo to work on, we will discuss composition, delve into value and why it is important to create representational art. After that, we will paint a black and white portrait that focuses on value before we move into colors, which will be on Day 2.
Day 2. DAY 2: PAINTING THE PORTRAIT. Before painting the portrait in color, we will discuss color theory. After that, a demonstration of diverse color palette for different skin tones. You will explore color mixing and watch the master artist execute the portrait from start to finish.
